Sexual Difficulties

Expert, sensitive support for sexual concerns

Vulnerability and self-discovery

Sexual difficulties are far more common than most people realise. Research suggests that around half of all adults will experience a sexual problem at some point in their lives. Yet most people never seek help. They feel embarrassed, assume nothing can be done, or simply do not know where to turn.

If this sounds familiar, I want you to know that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Sexual problems are a normal part of human experience, and with the right support, most people see real and lasting improvement. You have already taken the hardest step by looking for help.

Common issues I work with

I have extensive experience helping people with a wide range of sexual concerns, including:

  • Erectile difficulties — trouble getting or maintaining an erection, whether occasional or persistent
  • Premature ejaculation — finishing sooner than you or your partner would like
  • Delayed ejaculation — difficulty reaching orgasm or taking much longer than expected
  • Loss of desire or libido — a drop in sexual interest that feels out of character or causes distress
  • Vaginismus — involuntary tightening of the vaginal muscles that makes penetration painful or impossible
  • Pain during sex (dyspareunia) — persistent discomfort during intercourse that has no clear medical cause
  • Performance anxiety — fear of not being good enough, which creates a cycle of worry and avoidance
  • Orgasm difficulties — inability to orgasm, or orgasms that feel unsatisfying or disconnected
  • Porn-related sexual problems — difficulties with arousal, desire, or real-life intimacy linked to pornography use
  • Sexual confidence after illness or surgery — rebuilding your sexual self after cancer treatment, surgery, or chronic illness

This is not an exhaustive list. If your concern is not mentioned here, please get in touch. I work with a broad range of sexual health issues and I am happy to have a conversation about whether I can help.

Disconnection in relationships

My approach

My approach is practical, evidence-based, and focused on getting results. I combine psychosexual therapy with cognitive behavioural techniques (CBT) to address both the psychological and physical aspects of sexual difficulties.

This is not just talking therapy. While understanding the root of the problem matters, I also give you structured exercises and techniques that you practise between sessions. These are designed to gradually rebuild your confidence, reduce anxiety, and help your body and mind work together again.

I work at a comfortable pace. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to, and I will never ask you to do anything that feels uncomfortable. My consulting room is a completely safe, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly about things you may never have spoken about before.

I work with both individuals and couples. Sometimes a sexual difficulty is best addressed on your own. Other times, involving your partner can make a significant difference. We will work out the right approach together.

How therapy works

What to expect in sessions

In our first session, I will ask you about your concerns, your history, and what you would like to achieve. This helps me build a clear picture of what is going on and put together a tailored plan for your therapy.

From there, sessions typically combine conversation with practical work. I will explain the techniques and exercises clearly, and you will practise them in your own time between sessions. Each session builds on the last, so progress is steady and measurable.

How long does it take?

A typical course of therapy for sexual difficulties is between 6 and 12 sessions, though this varies depending on the complexity of the issue and how quickly you respond to treatment. Some people notice improvements within the first few weeks. I will always be honest with you about what to expect.

Homework between sessions

The exercises I set between sessions are a key part of the process. They are designed to be manageable and are always discussed and agreed with you in advance. Progress happens not just in the therapy room, but in the work you do between appointments.

“I was so very sceptical because I tried therapy for 6 years and no luck at all. I can’t believe what she achieved with me without any medication and within a few months. She is a miracle worker, totally dedicated and very knowledgeable.”
